Transcarent Benefits

Transcarent Surgery Care is available as part of your health plan at no additional charge to you; pay $0 for surgery. The program provides you with access to quality providers specific to your procedure, plus a Care Coordinator to manage the process for certain non-emergency surgeries such as knee replacement or back surgery.

Effective July 1, 2025, MCSIG members are required to contact Transcarent for all elective surgery coordination. Members who do not use Transcarent for their eligible services will have their claim denied in full, as required by the plan. To avoid this, members must contact Transcarent in advance to confirm eligibility and coordinate their care. *If a surgery is not eligible through Transcarent but is a covered benefit under the medical plan, it will be processed under the member’s Blue Shield coverage, subject to applicable deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance.
